AKG C520 Professional Head-Worn Condenser Microphone
The C520 mounts securely to the headband with minimal weight and adjustable positioning, freeing both hands during tracking or performance capture. Its flexible boom arm accommodates left or right placement, enabling precise mic placement for consistent vocal takes across multiple sessions. Purpose-built for recording vocalists, singing keyboardists, live tracking scenarios, and any session requiring hands-free condenser capture with studio-grade audio quality.
Design & Build
Lightweight construction paired with flexible shock-mounted condenser capsule minimizes handling noise and mechanical vibration—critical for clean vocal isolation in multitrack recording. The integrated moisture shield protects the transducer from perspiration during extended takes, while the cardioid polar pattern actively rejects room reflections and off-axis noise, keeping your vocal signal tight and centered in the mix.
Audio Performance
The C520 captures transparent condenser tone across a wide 60 – 20,000 Hz frequency response, with a 63 dB-A signal-to-noise ratio and low 31 dB-A equivalent noise level for articulate, detailed vocal recordings even in untreated spaces. Its 5 mV/Pa sensitivity delivers strong output through the standard XLR connector, compatible with any audio interface, preamp, or wireless system in your studio setup.
