Bobtail Suite Score & Parts

Discover the Beauty of Canadian Jazz

Looking for a unique and exciting addition to your music library? Look no further than the Bobtail Suite Score & Parts, a stunning Canadian jazz piece for brass quintet written by Ward Cole. In 1985, Ward Cole noticed a lack of original Canadian jazz for brass quintet and decided to take matters into his own hands. The result is this beautiful suite, inspired by his own English Sheepdogs, Pan and Cyndi.

A Musical Tribute to Beloved Pets

The Bobtail Suite is a heartfelt tribute to the composer’s beloved pets. The first movement, Lament, was written in memory of Pan, who tragically passed away. The second movement, on the other hand, is a lively tribute to Cyndi, who loved to strut around like a show dog. The suite is completed by Jasper & Yogi, a musical description of a couple of rowdy and comical English Sheepdogs owned by a friend.

A Masterpiece of Canadian Jazz

The Bobtail Suite Score & Parts is a masterpiece of Canadian jazz, showcasing Ward Cole’s skill and craftsmanship as a composer. The suite is written for brass quintet, making it perfect for intermediate to advanced players looking to add a touch of Canadian flair to their music collection.
