dbx PB48 48-Point Patch Bay
The dbx PB48 is a compact, professional-grade patch bay engineered for home studios and recording facilities that require reliable signal routing without introducing noise, coloration, or unnecessary rack real estate. This passive unit slots seamlessly into a standard 19-inch rack, offering transparent audio paths and the flexibility to reconfigure your signal flow on the fly between sessions or takes. Its straightforward design and solid construction make it the kind of workhorse that stays invisible in your signal chain while handling everything you route through it.
Design & Build Quality
The chassis occupies just 1.75 inches of rack height and extends only 2.6 inches deep, making it ideal for tight production setups. Each of the 48 jacks features nickel-silver, self-cleaning contacts that resist oxidation and ensure consistent connection integrity through countless patching and repatching cycles across recording sessions.
Normalling Configuration & Connectivity
All 1/4 inch phone jacks accept both balanced and unbalanced cables, and the normalling scheme is user-configurable between half-normalled and de-normalled operation, giving you full control over default signal paths and session recall flexibility. This passive design requires no power supply, eliminating one more dependency from your studio infrastructure and ensuring zero noise floor contribution to your recording chain.
