Mark de Clive-Lowe – Mark De Clive-Lowe Presents Remixes & Reimaginations [2LP]

Impressive Collective BBE Music and Mark de Clive-Lowe presentRemixes & ReimaginationsWorld renowned for decades Mark de Clive-Lowe is the New Zealand-born Tokyo based pianist composer and producer recognized as a pioneer in nu-jazz broken beat and electronic music. In contrast to his previous release on Impressive Collective the contemplative solo project past presenttone poems across time this collection draws together MdCLs extraordinary reinterpretations of other artists work. As he explains Remixing has always meant more to me than just rearranging stemsits about uncovering a new reality inside the music. From the uplifting gospel-house of Close Counters Ill Be There For You recontextualized for the broken beat dancefloor to We Are KINGs timelessly angelic tones on Supernatural Omars This is Not A Love Song reimagined almost 30 years later and the politically-charged tones of Anthony Josephs Maka Dimweh every remix has been forged with the progressive dance floor in mind while still considering the deep listenerall in service to the original artists essence.Im grateful to every artist whos invited me to dive into their work to deconstruct it and reimagine it with love curiosity and respect. This compilation isnt just a retrospective its a celebration of the remix as art form.
