Sabian XSR 22″ Monarch Cymbal
The XSR 22″ Monarch delivers dry, articulate ride tones that sit cleanly in a mix without excessive wash or bloom. This medium-thin B20 ride cuts through without muddiness, making it a workhorse for recording sessions that demand both definition and crashability. Its responsive character under the stick and vintage aesthetic make it an excellent value choice for home studios and project rooms seeking practical versatility.
Tone & Response in the Studio
Built from B20 bronze using proven technology from Sabian’s higher-end lines, the Monarch produces a dry sound with short sustain and clear stick definition—ideal for tracking rides that articulate cleanly without lingering overtones that complicate mixing. The lathed bottom and unlathed top profile contributes to its focused, controlled character across dynamic playing and varied session dynamics.
Recording & Production Versatility
The medium-thin profile and multi-hammering technique yield a cymbal with excellent crashability for layered arrangements and vintage textures, while the 2212-gram weight ensures punch and projection without excessive resonance. The Monarch is engineered to capture clear, usable takes—a practical choice for recording workflows that prioritize tight, controlled cymbal tones.
