Seymour Duncan Humbucker SH-1B 7-String 59 Model Bridge Pickup
The SH-1B 7-String ’59 Model captures the warm, articulate character of a classic P.A.F. humbucker scaled specifically for extended-range instruments. In the bridge position, this pickup combines vintage-inspired tonal coloration with the clarity needed to maintain definition through modern heavy playing styles and gain structures, sitting cleanly in mixes across progressive metal, jazz fusion, and alternative production contexts where seven-string separation matters.
Tone & Recording Performance
Built around an Alnico 5 bar magnet and wound with 42AWG plain enamel magnet wire, this pickup produces the smooth, singing sustain characteristic of Seymour Duncan’s ’59 design without unwanted feedback. The wax potting eliminates microphonic squeal, ensuring stable, feedback-free tracking even at high gain levels typical of extended-range production work.
